The Water Innovation Network are proud to bring you a unique opportunity to find out as much as you can about bioresources at Anglian Water on the 24th January and a chance to present your innovative solution to the decision makers of the 1st March.
Ofwat have thrown down the gauntlet to water and sewerage companies (WaSC’s) to get the best value from bioresources (also known as sludge), by introducing the Bioresource Markets.
Anglian Water’s approach to this challenge from Ofwat is to further explore the options of utilising the sludge within the catchment to help the company become Carbon Neutral by 2050. The existing treatment of bioreources is anaerobic digestions where biogas is produced from the sludge and this is used in engines to generate renewable electricity and a conversion of 1.1 MWhr/tonne dry solids is achieved, but this could be improved.
This event is your chance to collaborate with Anglian Water to improve the anaerobic digestion methods and processes to produce more energy, and to make further suggestions on how to get the best return from sludge. From this event you will receive:
Pre event pack (distributed from 30th November) – Once registered you will receive a details of the current practices at Anglian Water, which will prepare you for the event
Meet with the experts (24th January) – This one day interactive event will give you all the information you need to understand the current practices at Anglian Water, through Q&A’s, workshops and interactive tools
Post Event – As an attendee you will be invited to submit your solution through Water Innovation Network Idea Portal, where the experts will provide feedback and potentially a chance to discuss further
Present back (1st March) – We are looking for solutions and if you have an idea that is of interest, you will be hand picked to present your solution to the experts at Anglian Water with a chance to trial
So if you are an expert in the field in creating profits from sludge, this is the event for you!
