Pontoonworks Case Study – An innovative solution for working on water

The Problem

Working on water can often be challenging as the surface is unstable and access can be restricted. Our engineers have to attend existing pump stations and structures to carry out maintenance and quite often have to respond to urgent maintenance tasks. In the past scaffolding has been used which can be time consuming to erect and costly.

The Solution

Pontoonworks recently collaborated with WIN to introduce a modular pontoon system which provides an alternative solution to scaffolding.

The tailor-made solution was transported to a number of locations quickly and efficiently without the need to drain. Delivered on a transit, negating the need for large lorry movements, the pontoon solution was 40% cheaper than the scaffold quote and delivered a faster and more efficient service with reduced risk to personnel.

The floating pontoon system ensures our engineers and surveyors have a safe and stable platform to carry out inspections and maintenance on water. The pontoons are scaffold compatible, have numerous mooring options and can be configured around existing piles and structures. They also eliminate the risk of pollution to water courses.
